Senate investigators have a copy of Anthony Fauci’s Covid era government cellphone.
A copy of the contents on the device has been transferred from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to the Senate Homeland Security Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations chaired by Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson.
A spokesperson for the senator told Fox News Digital the subcommittee “obtained a copy of Dr. Fauci’s iPhone that was used during his time at HHS.”
Investigators hope the contents of the device will help address questions on pandemic origins and mandates that Fauci refused to answer during a hearing last week in which he invoked the Fifth Amendment 111 times.
The hearing culminated with Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul vowing that Fauci would face consequences for declining to comment and questioning whether his auto-pen pardon from Joe Biden could protect him.
On Thursday, the Senate Homeland Security Committee, chaired by Paul, voted to hold Fauci in contempt of Congress.
A resolution released by Paul on Tuesday states that the senator “found the privilege of the Fifth Amendment unsupported” as Fauci invoked his rights against self-incrimination for a period of time for which he has received a pardon. The resolution also argues that Fauci forfeited his right to invoke the Fifth Amendment by giving a brief opening statement condemning the Paul’s investigation.

Now Fauci has got a pardon from the Biden people, you know that. But the states of Louisiana and Florida are starting to investigate him. I don’t know what for, it’s just beginning, but the attorneys general in those states, they’re looking to get him. And then other red states will join and they’ll try to nail him on a state level, on damage done to the individual states.
“So Fauci is going to be in court for the next five years. The feds can’t get him because of the pardon, but the states, if they can prove that Fauci committed a state crime, they can get him. Now, Fauci’s gotta be funded. He can’t pay the bills, his legal bills on that. So he’ll go into the progressive movement… You know, Soros will pick up the tab or somebody like that.
