News? Media reports imply nationwide Soros-funded protests were spontaneous

'Hands Off!' protesters in Washington, DC.
by WorldTribune Staff, April 7, 2025 Real World News

Major media could not contain their glee on Saturday as they described the groundswell of support for Saturday's "Hands Off!" protests against President Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

CNN noted: "Over 1,400 'Hands Off!' mass-action protests were held at state capitols, federal buildings, congressional offices, Social Security’s headquarters, parks and city halls throughout the entire country – anywhere 'we can make sure they hear us,' organizers said. 'Hands Off!' demands 'an end to this billionaire power grab.' "

The "Hands Off" protesters have three demands: “An end to the billionaire takeover and rampant corruption of the Trump Administration; an end to slashing federal funds for Medicaid, Social Security, and other programs working people rely on; and an end to the attacks on immigrants, trans people, and other communities.”

Taxpayer-funded NPR blared: "Nationwide 'Hands Off!' protests erupt against Trump and Musk".

"There are so many issues," Kelley Laird, who attended a rally in Washington, DC on Saturday told NPR. "They're coming after education, coming after health care, coming after the arts, coming after the press."

The protests "erupted"?

Independent and social media reporting showed a bunch of activists showing up and leaving at the same time ... like they were on the clock.

And it's almost assured that a large number of them were.

Images and video from the rallies showed protesters, most of them white, holding signs opposing the Israel-Hamas war, federal employee layoffs, deportation policies, and the slashing of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs.

Last month, the New York Post reported that leftist billionaire George Soros gave $7.6 million to one of five groups accused of targeting Tesla vehicles and dealerships.

MoveOn.org, which has taken millions of dollars from Soros and his Open Society Policy Center in recent years, has also been funding the anti-Trump, anti-Musk protests, Fox News reported.

"It’s no surprise the Biden Administration’s favorite billionaires are paying far-left activist groups to hold events designed to villainize Republicans," Congressional Leadership Fund spokeswoman Torunn Sinclair told Fox News Digital. "Democrats will do anything and everything they possibly can to stop President Trump and House Republicans from accomplishing the work the American people elected them to do."

"The Democrat Party has sold themselves out to the far-left crazies and their mega-donors who are funding these clown shows," NRCC spokesperson Mike Marinella told Fox News Digital. "This isn’t grassroots — it’s manufactured outrage to distract from their failed and out of touch record."

Maryland Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin, who spoke at the rally in DC, praised the activist judges who have attempted to block several of Trump's policies, including cuts made by Musk's DOGE.

"We are winning in court, where 39 judges appointed by five Republican and Democratic presidents have issued 56 preliminary injunctions and TROs [temporary restraining orders] against this lawlessness," Raskin said. "Let's tell MAGA what democratic movements all over the world tell the dictators of the world. Hands off the courts."
