Socialism has historically been the stepping stone to full-blown communism. In Tuesday’s New York Democrat Party primaries, three candidates who have been affiliated with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) were winners.
Democrat strategists like James Carville are not happy and according to some reports are in a panic.
“It’s easy to be a Communist — All you have to do is say, ‘I’ll give you everything,’ but that means you’re taking it away from others that have earned it,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
“Over thousands of years, that Ideology has not worked once. The game is on. Enjoy watching! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
In Tuesday’s New York primaries, three Democrat “socialists,” all backed by New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, were victorious.
• In New York’s 13th Congressional District, loudly anti-American Darializa Avila Chevalier, 32, defeated incumbent Rep. Adriano Espaillat, who serves as the Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
• In New York’s 10th congressional district, incumbent Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman was trounced by socialist Brad Lander.
• Assemblywoman Claire Valdez defeated Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso in the 7th district.
Jim Rickards, editor of Strategic Intelligence, likened Tuesday’s primaries to a “political earthquake.”
In a subsequent statement on June 26, Trump called the takeover of the Democrat Party the “Greatest Threat to our country since its founding 250 years ago”:
I will be speaking at 1:30 P.M. to The Faith and Freedom Coalition, and one of the Statements I will be making, perhaps the most important of them all, concerns the recent Election of Communists in our Country. Communism is very easy to sell. I’d be the Greatest Communist in History. I’d give free rent, free houses, free food, everything is free. Unfortunately, after two or three years, the Country where this is taking place would fail. It always does, and then you’ll start living in squalor. There will be no food, there will be no housing, there will be no Military, there will be no nothing. You’ll be Third World every way, and everyone will suffer or die. I’m sorry to say, but Assassinations of those who oppose them is a very important element of their Ideology. They’re animals! In many cases, not smart but, in some cases, they are. It’s easy for them to get followers because they make promises that they know they can’t keep, and the Dumocrats aren’t fighting back. In many ways, they’re allowing them to go their own way. They’re afraid they will lose their Election, they’re afraid of conflict. They’re not smart enough or tough enough to fight this plague. If they fought them the way they fight Republicans, or me, they’d be victorious, but they don’t have the courage to do so. These are not social Dumocrats, these are hard core, godless Communists. This is the most serious threat to our Country since its existence 250 years ago. Isn’t it ironic, we’re celebrating a very important Birthday, and instead of speaking about Christ, Freedom, and Victories of all different kinds, we’re speaking about yet another threat to the Foundations of America. These ruthless Communists will attack all Religions but, in particular, Christianity – They always do. All Communist Countries attack Religions violently. As you know, we recently struck Nigeria, and largely ended the slaughter of their Great Christian population. They know that if they go further, the attack will be far greater and, in that, they don’t want to get involved. I am saving Christians throughout the World, even though we are not in those various Countries, by hitting these Terrorists violently and hard. “When you see or hear the word ‘socialist,’ you should think of it as communist. Important communist sympathizers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries realized that communism was a damaged brand after the failure of the Paris Commune government of France in 1871,” Rickards noted. “British intellectuals Sidney and Beatrice Webb joined the small socialist group called the Fabian Society in 1885 and were highly influential in moving British politics and academia in the direction of socialism for the next 60 years.”
Despite the name change, “socialists still espoused communist goals, especially the conversion of private property for public welfare projects. This could be accomplished through confiscation, taxation or public expenditure, but the goal was always the one described by Karl Marx: the abolition of private property,” Rickards continued. “Another change pursued by the Webbs and others was that socialism (really communism) did not have to be achieved by violent revolution, as was the case with the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution in Russia.
“It could be achieved through what the Webbs called “permeation” and what 1960s radicals called the “long march through the institutions,” based on the work of neo-Marxist intellectual Antonio Gramsci in the 1920s.
“The idea is that you don’t have to destroy institutions. With patience, you can take them over from the inside.
“This is what’s behind the infiltration of universities, foundations, media, science and government bureaucracy. It’s the origin of the Deep State. This process is already far along. And after the DSA victories on Tuesday, it’s now coming to Congress itself.”
Rickards contends that the communist faction of the Democrat Party is further to the left than current leadership, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Minority Whip Katherine Clark, and even far-left Reps. Pramila Jayapal and Ro Khanna.
“Even Squad members and their allies — including AOC, Rashida Tlaib, Jasmine Crockett, LaMonica McIver, Ayanna Pressley, Maxine Waters and Jamie Raskin — are too moderate for the DSA,” Rickards wrote.
“The word on Capitol Hill is that no one is safe.
“Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is a sitting duck for a DSA opponent if he decides to run again in 2028. Popular Democratic names like Gavin Newsom, Kamala Harris and JB Pritzker are not sufficiently left-wing for the DSA.
“It is highly likely the DSA will field a presidential candidate in 2028 who will argue that the Democratic establishment is too tame and too accommodating to the political center to solve the country’s problems.
“DSA-type far-left mayors are already in place in Chicago, Seattle and Portland, Oregon.”
Rickards noted: “We’re looking at the reshaping of the Democratic Party into a hard-left socialist force, even as MAGA gathers its strength on the right. The long-term result may be something like Germany in the 1920s, the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917 or even the U.S. Civil War in the 1860s. We’re not there yet. But the process has unmistakably begun.”
Longtime Democrat Party strategist James Carville insists there is no room for commies in his party.
Appearing Wednesday night on NewsNation’s “Elizabeth Vargas Reports,” Carville blasted Chevalier following her victory over Espaillat in New York’s 13th Congressional District, arguing her views place her well outside the party’s mainstream.
“They should not seat her in the caucus,” Carville said. “Her views are totally against anything that any Democrat has. We believe in pluralism.”
“All of these people hate Democrats,” Carville said of democratic socialists. “Why do you want to run as a Democrat? Start your own movement.
“If it’s such a powerful, sweeping movement that’s got momentum everywhere, then go ahead and be at the head of it. Don’t use the Democratic Party to advance it.”
