Stacie-Marie Laughton, a man who says he’s a woman, was elected to New Hampshire’s state legislature and celebrated by the New Hampshire Democrat Party.
The party continued to back Stacie-Marie, formerly Barry, despite several warning flags.

Last week, Laughton was sentenced to 33 years in prison after pleading guilty to goading his former partner into taking sexually explicit photos of children as young as 3 years old at a Tyngsborough daycare.
Federal prosecutors in their sentencing memorandum said Laughton, 42, spoke “extensively” in text messages in the spring of 2023 about “potential or fantasized sexual contact with kids.”
Laughton’s former partner, Lindsay Groves, 40, also pleaded guilty to taking and sending nude pictures of children at the daycare where Groves was employed, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors say Groves took advantage of routine bathroom breaks and diaper changes to snap the photos, which were then texted to Laughton. A forensic review of the pair’s cellphones revealed more than 10,000 messages sent over approximately one month in 2023, including several explicit photos of children who appeared to be between the ages of 3 and 5.
“The conduct at issue here is abhorrent,” prosecutors wrote in Laughton’s sentencing memo. “These were children who were not yet fully potty trained, not old enough to even go to the bathroom themselves, and not fully verbal. This was not a ‘crime of opportunity’ in the sense in which we typically think of that concept. This was planned, it was strategized, and it was carried out for the sexual gratification of one or both defendants in this case.”
Groves was sentenced to nearly 22 years in prison earlier this month.
Laughton was New Hampshire’s first openly transgender elected official.
“Nashua, NH voted to elect this walking red flag three times, despite a long rap sheet and a history of erratic behavior,” the New Hampshire News noted. “Clearly @NHdems needed a trans candidate to satisfy their political identity despite it being obvious that something was very wrong with this person.”
Laughton’s history with legal issues goes back to 2008, when he was sentenced to prison on charges of conspiracy to commit credit card fraud and falsifying physical evidence.
In 2015, Nashua police arrested Laughton on charges stemming from a bomb threat being phoned in to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center earlier that year.
Yet New Hampshire Democrats continued to support their trans darling.
Revolver News noted: “They had to know who they were voting for. It wasn’t a secret. In 2008, Laughton was convicted of conspiracy to commit credit card fraud and falsifying physical evidence. Years later, in 2015, Laughton was charged after making a false bomb threat report that led to the evacuation of a hospital. Both incidents were public knowledge long before the later elections that returned Laughton to office.
“These past offenses should have made voters stop and say, ‘Hell no.’ But because this man was pretending to be a woman, he got a pass.
“Democrats wanted a historic first.
“Instead, they ended up with a convicted child predator serving more than 33 years in federal prison.
“They got their ‘first.’ Are New Hampshire voters celebrating now?”
