Corporate WATCH
Commentary by Joe Schaeffer @Schaeff55Another Super Bowl has come and gone for the woke National Football League, and this one was marked beforehand by Commissioner Roger Goodell defiantly defending the multi-billion-dollar sports goliath’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
But do American football fans truly understand the extent to which they are being manipulated to foment cultural Marxist agitprop in the name of racial diversity?

This author reported Feb. 9:
Dr. C. Keith Harrison is a black professor at the University of Central Florida. He headed up the NFL’s official 2023 Diversity & Inclusion Report....
[In the report, he cites an] “empirical article” by Emory University professor Melissa Williams “and colleagues,” titled “Looking the Part: Stereotypicality in Appearance Among White Professionals Predicts Leadership Attainment and Perceived Leadership Suitability.”
Images of white leadership are a threat to black coaching prospects, the study asserts:“Building on research showing that people hold an image of the ideal leader as a White person, we propose that looking more typically White may facilitate leadership attainment,” Williams and her colleagues wrote. “Furthermore, within race, stereotypicality positively predicted occupying a leadership head-coach role among White professionals (and negatively predicted a head-coach role among Black professionals).”
There’s much more to this, and it reveals a startling degree of social engineering being aimed at American sports fans that is more akin to modern North Korea than Vince Lombardi’s gridiron heyday. An Emory University website article detailing the study shows how truly insane the NFL fixation with race can be:Separately, Williams et al. recruited a group of volunteers to look at the images of [college] football coaches: a mix of Black and white head and position coaches. These volunteers were asked to rate how typical they perceived each individual’s appearance to be of European or white Americans, or of Black Americans, ascribing each person a score out of five based on features such as their skin color, hair, eyes, nose, cheeks, and lips.
These scores were then regressed – or cross-referenced – with the position held by the individuals in the photos to determine the relationship between their racial stereotypicality and their leadership role.
Note: The main author of the 2023 NFL Diversity Report was a co-author of this study, a fact he happened to omit in the report for whatever reason. This is what the NFL has fully embraced in its DEI machinations. This is why you see so many black coaches displayed as odd peak Soviet Union-like caricatures of a New Model Man on your television set throughout the college and pro football season.Exposing sports television viewers across America to the presentation of a black man boldly striding the sidelines with headset affixed, embodying the new minority “image of the ideal leader,” is more important than actual job performance. The predictable result has been the hiring of a slew of demonstrably unqualified black head coaches who upon failing are quickly jettisoned by their teams after having satisfied advocates of the Rooney Rule, a league mandate that since 2003 requires that a minority candidate be interviewed for all team coaching and key front-office positions.
The New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders had two such coaches in 2024. Combined records of the squads: 8-26. Both woefully inexperienced ex-players were fired immediately at the end of the season and the positions filled by veteran white head coaches with proven track records of success. They were truly cannon fodder for the higher agenda. This racial obsessiveness in pro sports is proving exhausting to successful black head coaches, and how can you blame them? Imagine all your time, sweat and effort being reduced to the shape of your nose?
Joe Mazzulla, head coach of the NBA champion Boston Celtics, flabbergasted and frustrated big-box sports media reporters when he brusquely deflected yet another tedious query from a “journalist” during last year’s NBA Finals:
During a... press conference, Mazzulla was asked to comment about having two Black head coaches in the basketball finals for the first time since 1975. Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd is also Black.
“Given the plight sometimes of Black head coaches in the NBA, do you think this is a significant moment? Do you take pride in this? How do you view this, or do you not see it at all?” Yahoo Sports senior reporter Vincent Goodwill said.
A devout Catholic, Mazzulla responded: “I wonder how many of those have been Christian coaches.”
His answer appeared to confound the press corps — the room went silent for several seconds.
When Notre Dame secured a playoff win to make it to the NCAA football national championship game last month, black head coach Marcus Freeman was immediately asked about... the color of his skin:The ESPN reporter tasked with covering the coach’s and quarterback’s reactions, after spending a little bit of time asking for Marcus Freeman’s analysis of the game, pressed the Catholic convert on how much his position as the “first black head coach to go to a national championship game in college football” meant to him.
“I’ve said this before: I don’t ever want to take attention away from the team. It is an honor, and I hope all coaches — minorities, Black, Asian, white, it doesn’t matter, great people — continue to get opportunities to lead young men like this,” he said. “But this ain’t about me. This is about us. We’re going to celebrate what we’ve done because it’s so special.”
Do you see how orchestrated it all is? A complicit dominant media posing as “sports” reporters openly furthers the stated quest to change the face of coaching from oppressive whiteness to a new default image of the uber-capable minority. In doing so, it not only spits on all the white fans whose consumer spending fuels the Big Sports, Inc. financial bottom line. This brazen cultural Marxist campaign also sends the despicable message to black coaches that their earned accomplishments matter far less than the texture of their hair or the shape and tone of their face.
