As the celebrating begins amid profound divisions within the USA, we recall the closing words of the Declaration of Independence and the men who signed in on July 4, 1776. We also honor those who sacrificed their lives on April 19, 1949 for an exceptional nation to come and generations yet to be born. — The Editors
